Overview

Youth Policy Institute (YPI) is seeking a Campus Aide for its expanded learning program. This position will provide security and protection for students, teachers, and school property. YPI Campus Aides work directly under the supervision of the Site Coordinator.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

  • Campus Aide must be posted at the entrance to the school controlling who enters and leaves the building, through a closed campus protocol.
  • Additionally the campus aide would observe behavior in the hallways and lobby, checking hall passes and making sure program participants are where they need to be and those who are not in after school are not hanging out on campus. Person will be stationed at the door but may leave to respond to any security incidences on school ground.
  • Be a strong, non-biased presence that is able to effectively deter unwanted individuals from entering.
  • Control the high school sign-out binder so parents can easily sign their students out when leaving.
  • Maintain professionalism and abide by YPI code of conduct towards all students, staff, parents, or any person entering school grounds.
  • A strong but caring presence at the entrance to our school that will assure the safety of our students and staff.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with adolescent and/or youth
  • Experience working security and being in confrontational, potentially dangerous situation
  • Must dress in uniform attire
  • Reports to work on time and stays on task through the entire program hours.
  • Must pass a criminal background check (Live Scan fingerprinting) prior to beginning employment with children (no reimbursement)
  • Must present proof of negative Tuberculosis skin test (Mantoux) prior to beginning employment dated within 60 days (no reimbursement)
  • Must be able to stand/sit for long periods, and work out of doors in all weather conditions.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, some weekends and late evenings required.
