  • Overview

    The Youth Policy Institute is currently seeking and Distribution Driver & Warehouse Clerk, will support the Purchasing Coordinator and the Purchasing & Warehouse Manager. Primary function will consist of delivering supplies to YPI program sites throughout Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley, you will also assist the warehouse in processing materials, supplies, and/or equipment orders. The Distribution Driver & Warehouse Clerk will serve as the liaison between the Purchasing and Warehouse  Manager and YPI departments, communicate the status of all related purchasing inquiries and is responsible for the follow through with processing of orders and delivery of orders.

    Responsibilities

    • Work directly with Warehouse staff, Inventory/Purchasing Coordinator and the YPI Purchasing and Warehouse Manager.
    • Organize orders to be delivered to YPI program site by ZONE delivery.
    • Verify items that are to be delivered based on order information.
    • Load orders on to delivery truck.
    • Check truck daily for any damages, check oil, water, and tires for proper level. Record onto log book.
    • In the absence of Supply and Inventory Coordinator, this individual will Work / communicate with Purchasing and Warehouse Manager on any department related purchasing inquiries.
    • Follow up on orders to ensure that materials are shipped and delivered on scheduled dates.
    • Receive and inspect packages when delivered to office/building.
    • Maintain records and follow up on purchases, shipments, and related matters.
    • Inspect products received for quality and quantity to ensure adherence to specifications.
    • Under the direction of the Supply and Inventory Coordinator will inventory and asset tagging of equipment that are valued at $200.00 or more.
    • Participate in meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job.
    • Reviews documents and data (e.g. incoming requisitions, past purchases, reconciliations, inventories, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring completeness and accuracy of purchasing process.
    • Drive supply van to and from school site or Center for delivery of supplies/equipment.
    • Electronic submission of orders into Supplier Portal.
    • Review and resolve supplier invoice discrepancies.
    • Responsible for maintaining storage room organized.
    • Notify employees when orders are ready for pick up.
    • Track all orders that are picked on the Supply Sign-out sheet.
    • Notify recipient when orders are ready for pickup.
    • May assist with taking supplies to employees’ vehicle.
    • Create monthly supply order reports.
